## What is Google’s AI Mode?
[AI Mode in Google Search](https://blog.google/products/search/ai-mode-search/) introduced a new standalone interface for generative search. It’s kind of a more advanced version of [AI Overview](/content/serp-features#ai-overview/index.html), but with deeper reasoning, follow-up capabilities, and a distinct SERP layout. AI Mode tab doesn’t just offer answers — it responds like a conversational assistant. Similarly to AI Overviews, it provides links to referenced sources, so keeping track of the websites selected by Google’s AI is critical.

## How to track AI Mode results with SERP API
This update introduces full support for AI Mode as a separate search engine type in the DataForSEO [Google SERP API](/content/apis/serp-api/google-serp-api/index.html). Currently, it works with all Google locations, but only in English language.
